Hames on Climate Change

Duncan has named climate change as his main priority for the next parliament in a recent interview for Catch 21 productions. Speaking for the new Mpinions feature Duncan was quizzed on a range of topics, from his opinions on electoral reform to his habit of asking difficult questions.

Liberal Democrats have pushed the coalition government to lay out ambitious plans to tackle climate change, including raising the target for renewable energy production, committing to a 30% reduction in EU emissions and the creation of a green investment bank.

‘[this] is probably the last parliament that can really make the decisions we need in order to start the transition to a low carbon economy’, Duncan warned. ‘If we duck that …it will probably be too late to prevent our actions from having a lasting impact on the planet and its environment’.
